Early Groundhog Day 2023 predictions point to an early spring

Yesterday several early Groundhog Day forecasters gave their annual prognostications, and 3 out of 4 predicted that there will be an early spring.

Benny the Bass, Tinicum Tim, Tad and Lil all predicted an early end to winter, while only Buffalo Bert said it would be a long winter. It should be noted that Buffalo Bert, hailing from Buffalo, New York, has never predicted anything except 6 more weeks of winter.

Of course these are just a fraction of the prognostications we can expect this Groundhog Day Season, with the vast majority still to take place on Thursday on the holiday itself. Still, this is a good start and we’re hopeful that there will indeed be an early spring this year.
