Punksutenink Phil

This is one of the Phantastic Phils that populate Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, named “Punksutenink Phil” created by artist Robin McIvaine. This statue is a nod to the name

Punksutenink which is what a local Native American tribe, the Lenni Lenape, had for the area that would become Punxsutawney.

Punksutenink meant “town (or place) of little flies(ponkies).”
