Buffalo Bert provides first Winter prediction of the Groundhog Day season
Groundhog Day is still over a week away, but Buffalo Groundhog Day took place today, January 25th, in Buffalo, New York.
The annual celebration, now in its 7th year, takes place during the last weekend of January. During the celebration Buffalo’s resident groundhog Buffalo Bert provided what is likely the first Winter prognostication of the Groundhog Day 2020 season.
Buffalo Bert saw his shadow, meaning that his prediction is for six more weeks of winter. We’ll have to wait a week or so to see whether Bert’s groundhog and other Winter predicting colleagues agree with him.
