As we previously reported, Bill Murray (Phil Connors), Stephen Tobolowsky (Ned Ryerson), and Brian Doyle-Murray (Mayor Buster Green) were spotted in Woodstock, Illinois last weekend, and the speculation at the time was that they were filming a “Groundhog Day” related commercial for the Super Bowl.
Well that commercial is now available for viewing.
In the commercial Bill Murray as Phil Connors wakes up once again in Punsutawney, obviously still in another timeloop like in the classic film. Everything seems the same until he spots a Jeep and says “That’s different.” He steals the Jeep and Punxsutawney Phil, and has some fun new adventures, no longer minding that he’s repeating the same day over and over again.
It’s a funny commercial and it’s great to see some of the beloved characters from the film again. You can check the video out below. Let us know what you think.
