Concord Casimir provides 2022 Groundhog Day Prediction

Below, find the official news release for Concord Casimir‘s Groundhog Day 2022 prediction.

Concord Casimir says Keep your “parasol” handy, expect more rain than snow for the rest of winter

Concord Casimir made his much anticipated forecast this Wednesday Noon at Ellison Creek Knob in Concord, Ohio.  Casimir is predicting a soggy remainder of winter with more rain than snow coming. The word for umbrella in Polish is “parasol” and don’t be fooled by today’s winter storm, says Master of
Ceremonies John Niedzialek. Yes, we will have our snow and cold in the short term but Casimir is always looking into his crystal pierogi ball to predict our remaining winter weather.

It’s all in the way Casimir eats his pierogi, states John Niedzialek and what a soggy mess he made out of this year. That can only mean one thing of course and finally people are starting to give Casimir more credit as his forecasts have been flawless.

Casimir would like to pass on his regards however to the untimely passing yesterday of Milltown Mel, the critter that has attempted to predict the weather in New Jersey by reciting a little humor: What did Elvis say when he learned about the rodent? “You ain’t nothing but a groundhog.”

Casimir does have one pet peeve though. People keep messaging him on the morning of February 2 nd anxiously awaiting his forecast. Do people think Casimir is goofy enough to get up at 6am like Mr. P in Pennsylvania and eat his pierogi? No, he waits till Noon!!!! The Great Casimir has spoken.

John Niedzialek is a weather enthusiast retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Niedzialek teaches Earth Science at Lakeland College in Mentor, Ohio, works part time for the Lake County Soil & Water Conservation District, and volunteers at St. Casimir Church.

With the church reopening, he has found a new home and now works one day of the year.
