On Saturday, February 1st, 2025, the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge At Tinicum once again held their annual Groundhog Day celebration. This is the second year in a row that the Countdown to Groundhog Day team was there.
The activities before the ceremony included a Groundhog Day-themed guided walk on the grounds of the refuge, many Groundhog Day-related crafts, games, and refreshments, such as pretzels and cookies, and a live animal presentation from the Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center.
A few minutes before noon, the crowd participated in a sing-along to help wake up Tinicum Tim, who is a groundhog puppet, and the star of the show.
When Tim popped out of his hole, he saw his shadow, indicating that there would be 6 more weeks of winter.

An enjoyable time was had by all.
