Grover the Groundhog’s 20th annual Groundhog Day event was held at the Sweet Arrow Lake County Park Clubhouse this morning and the Countdown to Groundhog Day team was there.
A pancake and sausage breakfast was served prior to the event. Juice and hot chocolate was also available.

About a half hour before Grover provided his prediction, Matthew Dodd played Groundhog Day related songs and shared Groundhog Day facts and history.

Hemlock Hannah then provided some facts and information about groundhogs in general.

Bob Evanchalk and Rodger Zimmerman then came out to interpret and provide Grover’s prediction. Evanchalk spoke about the history of the event, and then Zimmerman provided Grover’s prediction in Pennsylvania German.

Grover’s prediction lined up with many of the other predictions that have been provided this Groundhog Day season, including Punxsutawney Phil‘s: “Six more weeks of winter.”

Grover then provided one more prediction: that the Seattle Seahawks will win the big game.

Grover was, of course, accompanied to the event by his wife Sweet Arrow Sue.
