Mount Gretna Grady’s Groundhog Day 2026 event
Mt. Gretna’s annual Groundhog breakfast took place on February 7th, 2026, and the Countdown to Groundhog Day team was there, finishing off the Groundhog Day season.
The breakfast included pancakes and sausages, and drinks such as orange juice and chocolate milk. Groundhog shaped cookies were available for the kids.
After breakfast, Mt. Gretna Grady, a groundhog sock puppet, provided his prediction for the remainder of the season.
Grady, whose prediction took place in the bay of the firehouse due to the frigid temperatures outside, failed to see his shadow, predicting an early spring.
Somewhere between 50 and 100 people attended the breakfast and/or Grady’s prediction.
Mt. Gretna Grady has been prognosticating since 2018, although he did not provide a prediction in 2021, due to the COVID pandemic.
