Schnogadahl Sammi

Schnogadahl Sammi is the taxidermied weather forecaster for Groundhog Lodge No 6. of Monroe County (Grundsau Lodsch Nummer Sexe an der Pohopoco) in Pennsylvania.

Every year, since the mid-1990s, members of the lodge have gathered outside Cherry's diner in Kresgeville, Pennsylvania, at dawn to hear Sammi's Groundhog Day prediction. If Sammi sees his shadow, there will be six more weeks of winter. If not, there will be an early spring.

Several dozen people usually show up to the event

At one point, there was a live Sammi providing the prediction on Groundhog Day morning, but in the mid-2010s the stuffed Sammi took over the role.
