The Nigerian dwarf goats at the Milwaukee County Zoo, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provided a Groundhog Day prediction in 2025, as the zoo did not have a resident groundhog at the time.

The goats' prediction was based on whether they saw their shadows or not.

In 2024, Humboldt penguins provided the prediction at the zoo. The previous groundhog forecaster at the zoo, Gordy, died shortly after Groundhog Day 2023.
