Tinicum Tim

Tinicum Tim is a groundhog puppet who has been providing a weather prediction at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the weekend before Groundhog Day, since 2010.

When it's time for Tim's prediction, the crowd sings "Wake Up Little Timmy!" to arouse Tim from his slumber. If Tim sees his shadow when he emerges from his burrow, there will be a long winter. If Tim fails to see his shadow, there will be an early spring.

There are numerous activities during the festivities each year, including crafts, live music, refreshments, educational programs, and live animals from the Philadelphia Zoo.

Several hundred people usually attend the event, which is hosted by the Friends of Heinz Refuge.
