Stumptown Fil

Stumptown Fil, also known as Filbert the American beaver, is a beaver that has provided a Groundhog Day prediction at the Oregon Zoo in Portland, Oregon, since 2020.

When Fil comes out on Groundhog Day, he is presented with two paper scrolls which have food attached to them. One scroll indicates it will be a long winter, and the other an early spring. Whichever scroll Filbert chooses determines his prediction.

Prior to Fil, a series of African pygmy hedgehogs provided the predictions for the Oregon Zoo, including Fufu and Velda.
