Poppy the Groundhog

Poppy, a groundhog, was an educational ambassador animal for Acorn Acres Wildlife Rehabilitation and made Groundhog Day predictions from 2020 until 2023.

If Poppy saw her shadow during her Groundhog Day appearance, then there would be a long winter. If Poppy didn't see her shadow, there would be an early spring.

Poppy made headlines in 2020 when she appeared in Jeep's Groundhog Day-themed Super Bowl commercial, portraying Punxsutawney Phil alongside Bill Murray.

Poppy passed away shortly after Groundhog Day 2023. Her understudy, Elliott, took over as Acorn Acres' prognosticator. Read more about Poppy the Groundhog.
