Since 1999, Woody, Michigan's official state groundhog, has provided a Groundhog Day prediction at the Howell Nature Center in Howell Michigan.
A small ceremony is held where the public is invited to witness Woody's prediction. If Woody emerges from here little house, called "Woody's House," and sees her shadow, there will be a long winter. If Woody does not see her shadow, there will be an early spring.
Depending on the weather, crowds can range from 20 people to upwards of 100. A breakfast is often held before the prediction.
There are usually activities like games and costume contests.
There have been numerous Woodys throughout the years.
