Yahdee

Yahdee (alternatively spelled Jahde) is a stuffed groundhog who has provided a Groundhog Day prediction at Wehr's Dam, in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, since 2007.

At his annual appearance, Yahdee travels down the Jordan Creek on a raft and then provides his prognostication. If Yahdee sees his shadow, there will be a long winter. Otherwise, there will be an early spring. Yahdee's prediction is communicated to the assembled crowd by one of his handlers.

After Yahdee's arrival, the crowd sings songs in Pennsylvania Dutch.

Yahdee is accompanied on his trip by his nephew, Lee.

Yahdee is the groundhog mascot of Grundsau Lodsch Nu. 16 Am Yahden (Groundhog Lodge No. 16 on the Jordan).
