Arboretum Annie

Arboretum Annie was a groundhog who provided Groundhog Day predictions at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, in Dallas, Texas, from 2019 to 2021.

If Annie saw her shadow at her annual celebration, that meant there would be six more weeks of winter. If Annie did not see her shadow, there would be an early spring.

At the event, music was played and the Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden had an activity booth. There were food vendors, free hot chocolate and coffee, a free caricature artist, a hat decorating booth and hat contest, and a showing of the movie Groundhog Day.

Prior to the event, there a proclamation contest was held, where people could submit their Groundhog Day proclamation. One was then chosen to be read before Arboretum Annie's prediction.

Annie lived at Wild Things Zoofari in Taylor, Texas when not providing Groundhog Day predictions.
