Snack Town Steve

Snack Town Steve is a squirrel who provided his first Groundhog Day prediction in 2025, in Hanover, Pennsylvania.

Steve's prediction is based on his willingness to grab snacks from a picnic table.

Steve stared visiting the art department of Quinn Flags in 2023, often peering in through the window. The workers noticed that he would show up for snacks every day, except for when inclement weather - like heavy rain or snow - was forecasted. This led the employees to conclude that Steve must have some sort of weather-forecasting abilities, and the Snack Town Steve tradition was born.

Snack Town Steve's name is based on the fact that Hanover is considered the Snack Food Capital of the World because of the large number of snack food companies located there, including Utz Quality Foods, Hanover Foods Corporation, and Snyder's of Hanover.
