Sand Mountain Sam
Sand Mountain Sam is a possum who has predicted the weather every Groundhog Day since 1993 in Albertville, Alabama, for radio station 105.1 WGSB. Every year a new Sam is caught for the ceremony and then released back into the wild after they make their prediction. A small ceremony is held in the radio station parking lot and broadcast over the air, where the winner of the station's Possum Queen contest reads Sam's prediction.
