Deadly Dan
Deadly Dan is a stuffed albino groundhog associated with radio station WNCO in Ashland, Ohio.
Dan has been providing Groundhog Day predictions, usually in the station's parking lot, since 1988. If Dan casts a shadow on Groundhog Day, there will be six more weeks of winter. If Dan does not cast a shadow, there will be an early spring.
It is frequently said that Dan has been "dead wrong" about all of his previous predictions.
The tradition was started by WNCO's disc jockey Ron Colman and news director Al Lawrence.
