Benny the Bass

Benny is a bass in Buckeye Lake, Ohio, who provides an annual winter prediction as part of Winterfest from the Buckeye Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. At 6:30 a.m., to kickoff the event, minnows are dumped into Benny's tank. If Benny eats at least one minnow within three minutes of the minnows' release, then it means there will be an early spring; otherwise there will be a long winter. Winterfest takes place every year on the last Saturday of January. The first Winterfest was held in 2015.
