Beans is a dachshund who provided the Ground Dog Day prognostication at The 2nd Annual Buda Ground Dog Day on February 1st, 2026.

Beans provided a weather prediction at the event, based on whether he chose a Snowman (long winter) or Sunshine (early spring) plushie.

Beans' official bio reads as such: "Meet Beans, the dachshund who lives life to the fullest. Whether he's hitting the trails, plotting the capture of a squirrel, or enjoying a crunchy carrot, he approaches everything with enthusiasm. And when he's done, he naps like the king he is."

A secondary dachshund named Mochi was on hand at the event to provide a prediction if Beans was unable to perform his duties for whatever reason.

A different dog is chosen each year to be the event's prognosticator. Nacho was the Honorary Ground Dog in 2025.
