Walnut

Walnut is a hedgehog who has provided a Hedgehog Day prediction at the Boonshoft Museum Discovery Zoo in Dayton, Ohio, on Groundhog Day since 2023.

If Walnut sees her shadow during her annual appearance, there will be a long winter. If Walnut does not see her shadow, there will be an early spring.

Walnut ultimately replaced Quilliam who passed away in 2020. In 2021, the museum's mascot, Odyssey provided a prediction, and there does not appear to have been a prognostication in 2022.
