Trenton Tessie

Trenton Tessie is a beloved stuffed groundhog at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) in Trenton, Missouri, who provided her first Groundhog Day prediction in 1987.

Tessie's prediction is based on whether she sees her shadow (long winter) or not (early spring.

Tessie regularly provided forecasts from 1980s until 2004. The tradition then went dormant until 2026, when Tessie once again made an appearance in conjunction with the college's centennial.

Besides forecasting the weather, Tessie often also provided predictions about the future of NCMC.
