Maple

Maple is a groundhog who provided her first weather prediction at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, in Fresno, California, during the Groundhog Day 2026 season.

During her appearance, Maple was presented with one box labeled 'Spring' and another labeled 'Winter.' Whichever Maple chose first, indicated her prediction for the remainder of the season.

Maple previously resided at a zoo in Oregon which closed. Maple was transferred to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo in 2025.
