Allen McButterpants

Allen McButterpants was a groundhog ambassador at Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center in Hampton Bays, New York, who provided Groundhog Day predictions from 2023 to 2025.

During his Groundhog Day appearances, Allan would look for his shadow. If he spotted it, that meant there would be a long winter. If he failed to see his shadow, there would be an early spring.

Allen arrived injured at the center in 2020, and, despite rehabilitation attempts, was unable to be released back into the wild.

Allen McButterpants passed away in September 2025.
